Phil Brough

I am an experienced and enthusiastic 3D animator with a strong background in television animation production and special effects. I have had a huge passion for animation and special effects.

I have had previous experience in both the UK and New Zealand using Maya to create various 3D animations and effects for a number of television productions and music videos. During the past year and half I have been freelancing at a number of London effects houses and design studios including: Rushes, Not to Scale and Spov working as an animator, Maya generalist and compositor on high profile advertising campaigns and television network pitches. Before this I freelanced at London based design company Intro where I created and animated various characters for BBC1's The Snow Queen, created 3D animations for Elton Johns Las Vegas live show video projections and assisted making a short film for Getty Images.

While at Intro I worked as a compositor for many television ads and music videos using After Effects and Photoshop. I have also had extensive experience as a character animator, most recently for Pineapple squared entertainment working on childrens televison show Orsum Island. Prior to this I have been employed as a freelance animator by MTV UK where I designed and created several animated shorts for two television pilots.

I have also had experience working in New Zealand on Back of the Y television, a successful comedy series which has aired during primetime in Australia, New Zealand and England. While working on Back of the Y I was involved in a number of aspects of the production from drawing 2D animated shorts to designing and building models used in special effects filming.
