Martin Bailey
SENIOR . Storyboarder
I was born a mainlander, but soon learned the error of my ways and moved north. I’ve freelanced as an Illustrator in Wellington two years, Sydney a year, Tokyo a year and worked a year in a photo retouch studio in San Francisco.
After all the paraphernalia required for airbrush illustration: paint, water, brushes, airbrushes, mask, extractor fan etc, storyboarding seems remarkably Zen. Just a pencil and paper (alright! And a scanner and a bit of Photoshop). Plus the ability to mind-read of course.
My perfect job: Briefed at 5pm. Home for dinner. Finished by 3.30am. Wake up at 7am. Go surfing.
