Title: Coca-Cola Company packaging
Software: Illustrator & Photoshop
Industry: Food & Beverage
Medium: Print/Flexo
Packaging for Coca-Cola is an exacting science. They have a very high expectation that their brand is constant throughout all SKUs. During my time working with Coke, I produced artworks for poly labels and cans ranging from Coca-Cola itself through to mineral water and isotonic re-hydration products. Coke's wide range of products meant taking ownership of the brand to ensure the quality of artwork was always in focus. From time to time, I was responsible for placing promotional artwork such as All Blacks tours on as many as 30 SKUs at a time – all within a very tight deadline.
Title: NZ Armed Forces Superannuation Report
Software: Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
Industry: Insurance
Medium: Print
Superannuation Reports and Annual Reports require accuracy and meticulous attention to detail. With the advent of KiwiSaver, many insurance companies produced reports for their clients, the New Zealand Armed Forces being one. My task was to produce the report in a clear and concise manner, and also create a cover that reflected the dynamic roles played by our defense forces. I used supplied imagery to blend the air, sea and land forces together into one unit.
Title: Dick Smith Retail
Software: Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop,
Industry: Retail, Electronics
Medium: Print, Catalogue
Working in the direct marketing environment is always an adventure in timing and accuracy. Dick Smith has a very high profile in the electronic market, with many competitors to contend with. Providing very quick turnarounds for their mailers meant staying on my toes constantly, with many product change-outs required before print. I have done similar work for The Building Depot, DEKA and The Warehouse, as well as various mailouts for charity organisations such as World Vision. This kind of work is difficult, but enjoyable once you get to grips with it.
