I am a graphic designer or what I like to call a Visual Sense Maker. As a Visual Sense Maker I see my role on this planet as a person who helps others to make better informed choices relative to their current needs and situations by presenting information clearly and effectively. Over the past six years I've worked in the design industry doing just this.

I can pretty much say I'm a safe pair of hands when it comes to identity and packaging design development. My main strength is being upfront in idea generation and art direction. I use my skills to help brands connect with audiences through direct and clear visual communication. Ideally I'd like to be designing interactive platforms that help audiences tell their own story.

To fulfill this wish, recently I've been working as a design researcher for Massey University. During this year my research focused on developing a collaborative creative process that enables both visual designers and users to work together to co-create new outcomes. The outcome of the research was the co-creation of a tool that enabled non-designers to visually communicate stories and accounts of experience with their peers.

If I were to sum up the way I approach design I'd say that through 'playing together' we create, learn and share. And this is the way we make the 'new' happen.
