Yealands Estate (www.yealands.com)
Take one maverick entrepreneur with a past encompassing everything from demolition to mussel farming, who just happens to own NZ’s largest independently-owned vineyard. Add in an organization-wide obsession with building the world’s first truly organic wine producer. Top off with a brief to build a world-class website targeting US wine wholesalers, restaurateurs and sommeliers. The aim was to digitally-transport them to the rolling hills of Yealands Estate in sunny Blenheim. Accomplished with the stellar skills of Waxeye, our own wickedly hot design and dev team and yours truly as Executive Creative Director, content strategist and writer.
Bazaar Breads (www.bazaarbreads.co.nz)
So Mum in Otaki tries serving up a dinner with something different. Say roti wraps. And the family go “What’s this funny foreign stuff then…?” Our brief courtesy of the very fine GWF Baking team, was to take Kiwi meal-providers on a virtual journey across the globe…with their palette. We even built in a recipe timer that popped up a relevant snack suggestion based on the time of day. I hatched the concept and wrote all content. Again credit to a hot design and dev team.
AIA ACC CoverPlus Extra {mini campaign)
Insurer AIA is collaborating to put together a mighty attractive package that get self-employed folk more bang for their ACC levy buck. We did a simple but engaging set of banners that drove to a microsite where peeps could see the kind of additional cover they could expect to gain.
Yealands Green Idea (www.mygreenidea.co.nz)
Our maverick wine entrepreneur Peter Yealands wanted to enlist Kiwis’ own ideas in creating a set of suggestions as to how we could live more sustainably. So we set up a print and POS campaign to stiumulate NZers to submit their ideas via txt and online. The website took feeds dynamically that displayed the latest suggestions on the home page. Clever and absolutely no trees were harmed in its making!
Andy Booth Racing (www.andyboothracing.com)
Hard-driving V8 driver had a new car in the pipeline for next season. He also wanted to up his profile with Kiwi fans and sponsors. Our brief was to design a new brand for him, and then extrapolate this into a content-heavy web presence that would satisfy petrol-heads lust for new race-candy. Oh and the bloke wanted to flog some t-shirts as well. I was Exec Creative Director throughout, supervised the design and production and wrote large parts of the content. Vroom…
