As of 24th of December 2008, I can proudly call myself a resident of NZ!
After living in NYC for 13 years, getting a Masters degree, working in a small interactive shop and some big agencies, running my own design studio, and sadly watching the towers fall, I decided to leave.
Searching the world over and all things considered, I chose New Zealand. Everyone wants to know why, well… it wasn’t about a man. New Zealand is a beautiful country full of very talented people, innovators, and DIYers who roll up their sleeves, muck in and bring their ideas to life. I’ve finally found my true home amongst like-minded folks.
My time in NY gave me opportunities to work with some amazingly talented and driven creatives and win many awards for global brands. Projects ranged from social marketing campaigns for anti-drug education to online stock trading, from home delivery wine club member acquisition and CRM to a programmatic promotion of infant formula. I also devoted time to "love projects" that promoted important social services, university education, museums and art organizations.
The best creative is all about finding solutions that grow the brand, deliver on the brand promise, engage the target audience, builds loyal relationships, and executes the smartest, most appropriate tactics for those solutions. Having said that, my most extensive experience is with digital, design and direct efforts. And my most recent project is this website (thepond.co.nz).
