SENIOR . Art director
Having just worn out my 27th Jumbo pack of felt-tip pens I found myself captivated by the TV once again. This time by a bunch of Smash loving, piss-taking Martians, a secret lemonade drinker, a mouse made of Lego bricks that turned into a submarine eating Kipper and Heinekin refreshing the parts other beers couldn’t reach. And when Mum came into the lounge doing ‘The Shake and Vac’ I was sold.
So as soon as I was old enough, I took myself off to Art College and it wasn’t long before I’d won a D&AD Silver Student Award and got hired by Dave Trott of Gold Greenlees Trott. Under his guidance I soon learnt how to write simple and effective ads and I wore out a lot more felt-tip pens in the process. As I grew up in the creative departments of Ogilvy & Mather, Lansdown Conquest and EHS Brann London, I also learnt how to develop big ideas and carry them through into Direct Mail and Digital Media.
Along the way I married a lovely Kiwi girl and eventually we made our dream move to New Zealand. Over the past 3 years I’ve been kept busy with full time stints at Aim Proximity and WRC/DDB, I started contracting in 2007, tried Midwifery (the Midwife didn’t make it in time so I had to step up) and I’ve even auditioned for Stars in Their Eyes.
Now I’ve hit forty something, I’m still captivated by great ads and want to be the one creating them. So please take a look through my portfolio and hopefully we can create something great together.
