Kiwi creativity steals top tourism award in Las Vegas

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…unless it’s a kiwi success story!

Pond digital strategist, Amanda Gould worked alongside Pond specialist writer Gerry Marychurch and interactive shop Born Digital to create a website which wowed a 50 judge-strong panel, winning the Brass Ring Award. Judged by leading marketing and public relations professionals, the Observatory’s website took the top prize for exceptional originality, creativity and excellence across marketing, advertising and public relations.

But the real accolade has to go to ex-pat kiwi and General Manager of John Hancock Observatory, Daniel Thomas, who reversed declining sales and achieved an 18% lift by calling on New Zealand’s global community.

“I wanted an international team who understood the fast and competitive nature of this business. Upon my move to Chicago I got The Pond on board to drive our re-branding, advertising and online strategies as I knew that they would deliver results within our expedited time-frames and provide a fresh, cutting-edge point of view.”

Pond Director, Sue Worthington, helped JHO win so many awards (including Best Marketing Materials, Best Rebrand, Best Online Marketing Campaign, Best of Show, Best Website and Business Impact of the Year) she was even invited to judge one herself!
